An exciting opportunity exists with Australia’s most trusted animal welfare charity.

RSPCA Australia is looking for a Key Customer Relations person to support and contribute to the implementation of RSPCA Australia’s marketing engagement activities.

The Role

This fantastic role is simply the best in RSPCA Australia. Your job will be to keep in contact with our already committed and wonderful supporters of RSPCA on a national level. And there is no better group of people. You’ll respond to their queries, let them know what is happening and generally encourage them to be part of the RSPCA family.

You’ll also respond to queries and be proactive with Trusts and Foundations that the RSPCA relies on for financial support, as well as working with the National Partnerships manager to meet the needs of our corporate sponsors and supporters. It’s marketing, it’s public relations but above all it’s building a great relationship with our fantastic group of national supporters.

You’ll work in a small team in our Deakin Office in Canberra with strong support from our National Partnerships Manager and the rest of the team and executive

The Person

To be successful in this role, you will need to be the sort of person who can build exceptional rapport with supporters over the telephone, email and in writing. You’ll be outgoing and really enjoy talking with people. But this will be backed up by your ability to give commitments and keep them - following up and being conscientious about updating contact notes and delivering commitments on time.

This isn’t an inward-looking role or an admin role. To be successful, you will have to love reaching out to our supporters, sponsors and partners and being the face of RSPCA. It’s not a sales role – there’s no cold-calling, for example – but it does require some creativity and commitment in building the best long-term relationships with our supporters that we can.

Personally, we need the sort of person who can demonstrate a track record of building strong customer relationships over telephone and emails for a corporation or a charity, who invariably meets deadlines, updates records accurately and who loves working with others in a committed team. Your telephone communication skills and your writing will need to be exceptional. A degree is not required, but qualifications in communications or PR would be an advantage.

And yes, we have dogs in our office to ground us and remind us why we’re there.
