RSPCA Australia is seeking an experienced and passionate leader to take on the role of General Manager, RSPCA Approved.

RSPCA Approved is Australia’s leading independent farm animal welfare certification program, established to improve the lives of farm animals. The program has welfare standards that go above what is legally required in Australia. To further expand our impact and improving the lives of even more farm animals we are embarking on an RSPCA Approved Transformation Program as the next step in the program.

Who we need

The newly created General Manager position will be pivotal in delivering across five key areas to meet the growth and capability goals of the RSPCA Approved Transformation Program over the next three years.

You will be experienced in leading program strategy and significant transformational change. Your skills and experience will help to influence and guide senior executives and Board members and drive the program forward.

What you will do

You will oversee governance, strategic planning, risk management, and operational functions, all while managing financial performance and leading a dedicated team.

  • Improve Animal Welfare: Drive industry adoption of higher welfare standards for farm animals and support consumer demand for RSPCA Approved products.
  • Certification and Assessment Management: Oversee certification and assessment functions, ensuring licensees and producers comply with RSPCA's rigorous animal welfare standards.
  • Commercial Strategy: Identify and develop business development opportunities that align with the program’s goals, including new partnerships.
  • Licensing: Oversee all operational aspects of the brand licensing program, including development, marketing, sales, and distribution.
  • Contract Management: Oversee negotiations with major licensees and producers, ensuring alignment with quality standards and brand values.
  • Governance and Risk Management: Provide governance leadership, including regular engagement with the RSPCA Federation's Board and committees, as well as the Advisory Board.
