The President of the Council of RSPCA ACT today announced the appointment of Tammy Ven Dange as the new CEO of RSPCA ACT.
‘Members of Council and staff join me in expressing our delight that Tammy has been appointed CEO. Tammy brings a strong commitment to the not-for-profit sector, an energetic and engaging leadership style and an array of innovative ideas about how to take RSPCA ACT into the future,’ says President Louise Douglas.
‘Tammy possesses an unique combination of skills, knowledge and experience including project management, fundraising and community leadership.  She has many dimensions to her life including a commitment to working with volunteer based organisations and an enthusiasm for paddling sports’ she added.
With leadership roles in the US Air Force, the IT Industry, as well as experience as director of her own company, Tammy is a recognised leader and strategic thinker.  Originally from the United States, Tammy’s early career included more than year as a business volunteer with the US Peace Corps in West Africa.
Tammy has a Bachelor of Business from Northern Arizona University and a Masters of Business Administration, with a focus on strategic management, from Cornell University in New York.  She held a number of senior management roles in the information technology industry in the United States and Canberra.  More recently, her ACT based consultancy business provided strategic management advice to a range of not-for-profit organisations.
‘Being the CEO of RSPCA ACT is a dream job for me as it brings together my passion for animals and my management studies and experience.  My interest in animal welfare goes all the way back to high school when I worked for a veterinary clinic for three years.  I am looking forward to joining the team at RSPCA ACT and making a difference to animal welfare in the ACT’ said Tammy Ven Dange.
Tammy commences her three year term as CEO on 24 February.
Jane Gregor has been at the helm for the last 3 months and Louise Douglas wished to acknowledge her hard work and dedication.  During her time as Acting CEO, the RSPCA ACT set a record for dog adoptions and greatly assisted animal-loving Canberrans to ensure their pets survived the recent heatwaves.
